Meetings and Events

Chalk the Walk for Mental Health: Monday, September 14, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Park

Meet Winstead Park representatives in the Park on Monday the 14th for Chalk the Walk! We’ll be handing out free chalk, courtesy of the Boise State Athletics’ BroncoBOLD mental health program. Chalk the Walk encourages people to cover sidewalks around the Treasure Valley with positive, uplifting messages. You can decorate the sidewalks in Winstead Park, or grab some chalk to go and decorate the sidewalks near your house, or in front of a willing neighborhood business. Take photos of your work and post them with #BroncoBOLD and #ChalktheWalk.

ANNUAL NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING: Sunday, September 27, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., Library! at Cole & Ustick

We’ll go over the events of the past year and provide a treasurer’s report.

We will also hold elections to fill the vacancies on the board. Anyone who lives within the neighborhood boundary and is age 18+ can be nominated and elected to the board. You can nominate yourself to the board here: https://forms.gle/YpQWwDWPx32jMEph8. We will have several vacancies to fill. Anyone interested should consider joining!

Annual Halloween Parade: Sat. Oct 31, 2:30 p.m. in the Park

Join the 7th Annual Winstead Park Neighborhood Association Halloween Parade! This free family-friendly event starts at 2:30 p.m. with a costume parade around the walking loop of Winstead Park beginning near the playground. Walk the loop as many times as you want until we run out of candy! Finish your walk with hot cocoa or apple cider under the picnic shelter. Stop by the photo booth to grab a fun family snapshot. Friendly leashed dogs are welcome.

***VOLUNTEERS NEEDED***
WPNA seeks volunteers to bring folding tables and Halloween candy to the park on Saturday, October 31st at 2:00 p.m. Costumes and decorations are not required but are highly encouraged! SIGN UP TO HOST A TABLE HERE: https://signup.com/go/OaDxZNu.

Note: Winstead Park cannot provide candy for the tables as the City of Boise does not allow grant funds to be spent on food. We get a moderate allowance towards apple cider and hot cocoa. Thanks for understanding.
